I sauntered through the food area of Rijswijk’s In de Bogaard shopping mall. Vishandel Koning stood out for the fresh fish and sea food on display. It was a busy time and customers are expected to take a number from the machine suspended from a pole. That was not obvious to most people coming by to inspect the herring, trout, shrimp. The majority of orders included a broodje. People preferred to walk away with them. Each was encased with a napkin. There are several round tables under the covered area and three picnic tables with benches. My order included fried shrimp. It was a combi meal, so there were fries and the obligatory mayonnaise and Ranch dressing served in a compartmentalized plastic container. One CBR (drivers license authority) employee shared a picnic table with me. She was eating a trout sandwich (breaded) served with chopped white onions. There is a large selection of fish, sea food and prepared fish salads. These can be bought by the kilo and taken away. Friendly service and happy to speak English.

In my experience: good affordable fish and lovely staff!
Nice place to eat if you want something like traditional fish and chips. Or you can get nice see food.
