This is a truly wonderful residential home for the elderly. My Mum was made to feel welcome from the moment she arrived. And prior to that we were helped every step of the way and given all of the information we needed to re-assure ourselves that we were making the right decision. Mum has received superb care and nothing is too much trouble for the team - all of them are so helpful. There is a great range of activities throughout the week and, as luck would have it, the annual garden party was held just after Mum moved in - she so loved inviting family to join her at that!

I have to disagree with Angela Marden as my experience of Ridgegate is completely different. Since 2009 I have had three relatives who have had the good fortune to reside at Ridgegate, and having them safely cared for has given me and my family great peace of mind. The kind, friendly and good natured staff have always warmly welcomed any visitor and in all those years I have never had cause to complain. Indeed all staff, management and carers alike, go out of their way to support residents and their families, and they have been a great help to me personally when my loved ones have been coming to the end of their lives. The job of taking care of the elderly is not always an easy one, but Ridgegate rises to the challenge and should be applauded.

I am pleased to finally give a review of this wonderful home my brother was a resident and sadly passed away late last year. I cannot thank all the staff enough for the love care and compassion they all showed him throughout the whole of his time at this wonderful home .. And a home it is.. Nothing was ever to much trouble he lived his final day's among people he came to think of as extended family and our family will always be grateful for that. Not living close by it was always comforting that I was able to call at anytime and be updated on his health and wellbeing from a friendly voice and I was always made very welcome when I visited.. Thank you for all you did ..Annie X

Having visited other care homes in the community, it was eventually decided that Ridgegate seemed the best option for my Dad, we had heard many personal recommendations from the community and liked the fact it was a non-profit making charity - from his arrival we could not have asked for better treatment or care from the Home Manager and her team of staff - All the staff are amazing there! In November 2017, Dad starting deteriorating, at this stage it was agreed that I could stay in his room with him.... ie... move in! We were made to feel like it was home from home....use of the facilities, having meals etc. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Everyone hears bad stories about care homes.... its not always the case as we have seen from personal experience!! Thank you to everyone who made the toughest time of our lives as comfortable as possible.. it will never be forgotten!! People like to complain alot these days and in Dads words...\Praise should be given where it is due\ and it is most definitely here!! All the staff go that extra mile to help and support loved ones. On hindsight I am totally convinced we made the right decision moving Dad into Ridgegate Home, on all criteria - the quality of the accommodation, facilities and activities, the friendliness and professionalism of all the staff, and the prevailing caring and happy atmosphere. It is difficult to imagine how this could be improved. Keep up the good work!!

There are some exceptional staff namely Cheryl, Brendon and Michelle to name but a few but my experience with some of the management leaves lots to be desired. I had cause to complain recently to the chairman Charles Harvey who subsequently responded dismissing my concerns and didn't even sign the letter himself! For a home that charges so much money a little courtesy wouldn't go amiss.
