I love this place. I’m waiting in my car right now to order a Rick’s Super Buy combo, no cheese, Diet Coke. They’ve stayed running through this horrible last year, and (when my waistline allows) I come here to support them and of course for the gear at food. A Silver Lake/Echo Park/Atwater institution I hope will always be here in my neighborhood! “Everybody goes to Rick’s!”

This was one of my favorite drive ins and I frequented about twice a week. I recently went vegan and asked for a garden burger with NO cheese. They confirmed my order twice, once at box and once at the window. I got busy and didn’t get around to opening my order for an hour or two. After a bite or so, I realized I was eating a beef cheeseburger. The mistake is something that happens to the best of us but when I called to try and get what I ACTUALLY ordered, I was told to drive back tomorrow and MAYBE have it addressed and that the women their couldn’t/wouldn’t do anything about it. I guess ricks is doing well enough, they don’t need their regulars. Never going back.

My wife and I happened upon Ricks in Los Angeles. One of my favorite burgers of all time is a Pastrami burger. Now I know there are served all over but I assure you that not everyone know how to make a pastrami burger, there is an art to it. I know that is a long build up just to say that This pastrami burger was one of the best I have had. I know you might look at the picture and say it wasn’t picture perfect but if that is your main concern then that is your loss. This was a masterpiece of epic meat proportions. My wife went with the bacon burger with the addition of avocado. The fries enveloped by loads of chili and cheese where mine! I am allowed one cheat meal every week or other week depending on my mood. I have to say that this was well worth it and I would do it again, thanks Ricks.

The asada meat I had in my tacos tasted a bit tough and bland. It's a pretty standard taco platter though (rice, beans, cheese) and overall it was tasty. I wish they would set the plate up so that my tacos didn't get wet and soggy by the beans though. Overall, not bad for a drive thru taco plate though! It was a large portion, too, so it lasted me two meals.

Attention soda brand elitists: Pay no attention to photos of their vintage indoor menu that shows Pepsi drink products. This Rick’s serves Coca-Cola. I avoided this place a several times simply because a quick look at the Google review photos made me think they only served that “other” cola. I guess for nostalgia reasons they haven’t updated the menu. I get it but wish hey had a “No Pepsi” disclaimer prominently posted somewhere Great burger place by the way! Breakfast is right up there too
