It's near Scotch Corner, a couple of minutes off the A1 and is a proper Yorkshire village pub. Real ale, good menu choices, although limited for vegans, plenty of fish and vegetarian options. Service was friendly and efficient, booked over the phone, voicemail responded to promptly.

So cosy a lovely traditional country pub. Excellent service and lovely staff. Food absolutely beautiful.
Have stopped here a few times over the years when driving from Glasgow to London. We have never been disappointed with any of our meals. Today we had beautiful roast pork and roast beef Sunday lunches. We will definitely return.
Fabulous pub. Stopped off for lunch on the way home from Northumberland. Lovely food and wonderful staff. Will definitely visit again on our next venture to the North East
Gorgeous food, well worth the wait which doesn't seem to be that long anyways! We came exactly a year ago as me and my husband got married and fancied a little trip. We returned again yesterday and once again the food was just as incredible as the first time. Can't wait to return again next year, staff are really helpful and friendly as well
