While Super Grocer & Pharmacy is well known for cheap meat and flowers, I think it is the most ethnically diverse grocery store in West Richmond. I would even go far as to say in terms of quantity, possibly all of Richmond. T&T, PriceSmart, even Superstore-they all have a lot of variety, but Super Grocer is still more diverse. There are 2 & 1/2 aisles dedicated to Japanese, (a small amount of) Korean, Asian, Filipino, and Thai dry foods. The other side of the store has a cheese section. The prices are amazingly low. I asked and they explained they get a lot of unsold product from larger stores. Some cheeses have shorter expiry dates. Interestingly, they usually have cheeses from the UK, France, and Italy. I even found fresh burrata there but only once. It was the first time eating burrata and it was amazing. The freezers have a section devoted to Asian fruits and prepared foods which I haven't explored yet. The fruit/vegetable section is hit or miss so just check items carefully. I've found fresh jackfruit and chayote. The baked goods is another quirk. The make banana bread and Filipino banana pudding all year round, but (dense) brownies only during winter months. I think they are the best/cheapest you can buy from a grocery store. Today I saw ginger (snap) cookies for the first time. The bread section continues the variety with Filipino options, some local brands, and different tortillas. English is not the first language of most of the staff, and they also aren't sure about some of what they carry, but I can't fault them for that. A lady asked for corn syrup for butter tarts and I could see the staff thinking 'corn..in syrup?!'. I showed the customer where it was. Yes (embarrassing?) I know the aisles. I see posts re rude behaviour from staff but I have yet to experience that. I treat shopping here like travel. Budget extra time, know a bit of the local language, and don't be afraid to get lost to find something new ;-)

Staff is friendly. Cashiers are quick and stockers at meat department were able to bring out products you request. Store is okay bright but could use some updating with displays and selves. Prices are reasonable and flowers are fresh. Parking is a bit of a pain though. Lotto centre present. Also sells tobacco products.

This shop should have a big sign stating BUYER BEWARE. You can get good things here. The flowers and plants are good, but be extremely careful when buying any perishable goods. You'll open that beautiful looking tray of minced meat, flip it, and see old grey discoloured meat underneath. We also bought real French Cheeses. One was superb, the other bitter and inedible.

It was my mother's birthday and I decided to buy her flowers from this store. After paying I asked to get them wrapped. The girl wrapped the flowers with ugly brown paper, with the flowers still in the plastic with the price tag still on! I mention can you wrap these in nicer paper. She said, impatiently, \it will be 3\. I said \forget it\ and went back home to wrap them myself. On further examining the flowers, the leaves were curling up and some flowers were falling off with gentle handling. I'll never buy flowers there again! Stick to Safeway to buy flowers. They're fresher and the staff will wrap them for free and with a smile.

Great local supermarket...one of a few independently owned grocer that still carries a wide range of items, both local & imported! They also have a Pharmacy, Postal Outlet, Flower Shoppe and a cooked food section ( currently closed due to Covid ). Check out their great fresh meat section, where they have a good selection of Steaks, Pork Chops & most of all Chicken wings! Yes, just simple chicken wings, they have whole uncut ones as well as separated drumettes & winglets, some stores nowadays, only carry one or the other! I find the whole wings are best for grilling and I would usually get them here! So far I have always received good customer service here and on several occasions the staffs in the ales have always been helpful when asked a question! They do have a parking lot but it gets filled up easily, there are also street parking available!
