We just got back from our trip to China (10 days, Shanghai and Beijing with 4 day Yangtze River Cruise) with Sinorama. We would TOTALLY take another trip with this company. First rate tours, meals, hotels, transportation, we LOVED IT! The people on our bus were fantastic, the guides for our entire group kept things moving. Great great trip! Thank you Sinorama!!

Horrible customer service in regards to trying to get our airline seats reassigned so that myself and my husband are actually seated together on the flight. (We booked our trip almost 1 year ago - at the same time, on the same credit card, as travelling companions). Despite being told by the airline that it ABSOLUTELY is possible to move us together (just that it has to be done by the agent); we've been consistently told by Sinorama that it is NOT possible and they've offered no help/assistance in this regard (except to offer to put us in 2 seats together at an upgraded cost of 240 per person round trip). So, unless you re happy to risk having to travel the 10 hour flight without being assigned a seat with your travelling companion, I'd avoid the expectation that Sinorama Vancouver will provide you that help.

Travelled with this company last December. Good value flights and hotels, worth the fare. BUT!!!!!! Everything else is a big scam, designed to fleece gullible travelers. Beware the tea tour, the terracotta factory tour, the silk factory tour and the Jade and pearl tour. The tour guides take you there and encourage you to spend good money on cheap tat that you can get waaaaay cheaper elsewhere. I bought a few things with them, and discovered that I could have got the real thing much cheaper on the street. The "silk" pillows we'w filled with polysterene fibers. Travel with them but buy nothing at the designated places.

They caused food poisoining by giving our tour turkey sandwiches that were seating in a heated bus for over 5 hours. They kidnapped a 9 year old year girl, by taking her on an empty bus, without the permission of her parents, on a 30 minute outing to "their offices" in China. They had a psychotic deranged driver refuse to take the passengers to the airport on the final day of departure. Worst of all, they don't care less about any of this. They are being reported to the authorities and being sued. STAY CLEAR of this HORRIBLE COMPANY.

Just got back from a 14 day essential China tour. It was a well organized trip and the price was right. The hotels in Beijing and Shanghai were out in the boonies but it really didn't matter much. All the hotels were good, clean and the meals that were provided were edible. The breakfasts in Beijing were chaotic and the coffee machines kept breaking down. They don't drink coffee in China and so it's not a priority and it's not very good, so bring your own favourite instant or switch to beer or Jasmine tea. The tour guides were excellent and our main guide Harvey was outstanding. Our Beijing tour guide Jimmy was great too and his knowledge of Beijing was truly exceptional. On the Beijing night excursion he arranged a Beijing duck dinner that was yummie. The high speed train to Xi'an was a first for us. It travelled at 304 kms. per hour. Xian was a great stop and then to Wuhan for the river cruise. Another high speed train to Shanghai with an optional night harbour cruise and then home. Overall the trip was great, however if I had one complaint it was too many compulsory shopping trips to jade factories, silk factories, pearl factories and terra cotta warrior factories. However, I found out that this practise is common on trips that cost much more than this one. One tip that you all should take on your China trip is don't drink the local water or brush your teeth with it unless it's boiled. You don't want to spend time in a squat toilet that 38 - 300 others have just used. The buses do not have toilets so you'll have to use the ones at the next stop. Would I use Sinorama again? The answer is yes...... they're great. Hiccups happen on all tours and ours were handled well. Thankyou Sinorama for a great experience.

The right to cancel a tour with a nine (9) months advanced notice was DENIED.... ! not cool.
