Richmondshire District Council Reviews | Rating 3.7 out of 5 stars (5 reviews)

Richmondshire District Council is located in Richmond, United Kingdom on Mercury House, Station Rd. Richmondshire District Council is rated 3.7 out of 5 in the category council in United Kingdom. Richmondshire District covers 509 square miles and is actually larger than four English counties, but within its boundary live only 51,400 people (2007 estimate). Richmondshire is therefore one of the most sparsely populated District Councils in the country, its boundaries stretching from the River Tees to Cumbria. The area is predominantly rural in character and a large part is situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The largest town in the District is the historic market town of Richmond with its Norman Castle, cobbled market place, famous Georgian Theatre Royal and elegant Georgian buildings. There is a thriving tourism industry within Richmondshire and this now forms the economic bedrock of the District. The District also boasts two other bustling market towns, Leyburn and Hawes, with many other urban developments to the east, namely Catterick, Scotton, Hipswell, Colburn and Brompton On Swale. Reeth is also a service centre for the upper Dales.

Dictate specific dates for payments regardless of benefit payment dates. Big fans of sending the red ink threat letters of court for as little as 16.00. Reception staff can havr either really bad attitude or lovely and helpful. Typically very money grabbing though with little regard to you as a person and your individual circumstances. Housing options staff are very nice and will try there best (in my circumstances) to make sure problems you have are solved, even going beyond there capacity and contacting relevant agencies to take over from them. Overall, an okay governing body unless you fall behind on a payment of ct.

Having had several dealings with Richmondshire since moving to the area I do find them very bureaucratic and very slow. Someone should train their management in customer service and how to treat people who are effectively buying their services. The coal face staff are nice but their management is rubbish

Popped in for some green garden waste bags. The lady on reception was extremely helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable. Both myself & my mum came away & commented on how lovely she was. Thank you!
