I would give Michael Johnson 6 stars if I could. Was recommended by a friend who had surgery by Dr Johnson. He is knowledgeable, caring, professional and thorough with a genuine interest in helping people. Having endured severe debilitating sciatica for 12 months, a lumbar fusion was performed. It has only been 3 1/2 weeks since the op but I am moving more freely with less pain than I had previously already. Very pleased I went ahead with this surgery. Would highly recommend, his receptionist is very kind and lovely also.

Lower disc fusion with Michael in February 2020. Now in July I’m feeling really good. The job he has done was nothing but impeccable. I am so glad he did the job. Main thing is, you must help yourself as well to get where you want to be. Thanks Michael Johnson. I really appreciate the help you have given me.

I had fusion and decompression done by Dr Johnson just over 3 years ago which changed my life. I was in absolute agony with nerve pain which initially started as what I thought was sciatica. Dr Johnson located a small ganglion cyst which was pressing on a nerve. Every now and then I get some slight pain but I am still able to run (at least) 5 kms without any concerns. Dr Johnson was gentle, sympathetic and obvious good at what he does best. He costs are very reasonable and in the range for all people. Don’t go anywhere else

Excellent surgeon, I had a 9 disc fusion, and my quality of life changed or the better.

Visited this surgeon after my back pain got more severe (previously had L5-S1 lumbar fusion by another surgeon in Brisbane). Michael sent me off to get fresh scans which I got on the day and went back to see him again on the same day. After reviewing my scans *quick glance for about 30 seconds) he proceeded to tell me that my 'fusion' didnt actually fuse. He then said that nature would run its course and I would be fine (offered a referral for an epidural after I essentially begged for some pain relief). Being 27 and in extreme pain not being able to work for over a month I proceeded to get a second opinion. As soon as my next surgeon put my xrays on the board it was clear that the hardware in my back from the last fusion had completely broken and clearly needed surgical intervention to have any hope of improving my situation. I STRONGLY recommend not booking an appointment with this surgeon as I waited 1 month in a lot of pain to be provided with absolutely no help or empathy at all.

My GP sent me to Mr Johnson after I had endured years of back pain and several failed operations. Mr Johnson listened to my problems and found the cause of my pain. He operated and was also very careful to help me with my addiction to pain killers which had been spiralling out of control. I cannot thank him enough. He has given me my life back.
