Already a member and normally love this garden, however 23/12/20 visit.. Booked for 7pm arrived before and was asked to pay again, after clearing up the fact it was paid was advised there was another family due with same surname and were to pay. As soon as we entered we heard a staff member bellow that the entrance was now closed.. All the way round we were followed by a team of staff turn by turn! Being a keen (novice) photographer I was hoping to get some decent pics from the 3 cameras I took however felt rushed every opportunity to get a decent snap! Towards the end my ever patient wife had to ask the staff to step out of the shot due to them being so close! At the end of the trial 1 hour later (20:00, park was due to close @20:30) we then was subject to another conversation between staff members including someone saying. “as soon as these go, I’m turning the lights off” like we didn’t already feel rushed as it was. We already pay a membership and decided that we would pay the inflated cost to gain entry to this event as part of a Christmas experience day for our family... really frustrated that we didn’t get to experience a relaxing stroll around the gardens and enjoy it. To add insult to injury when asked by a staff member half way across the field. “have we enjoyed it?” To which I replied “so so” he just shouted “oh well that’s better than not”. Last picture shows how close our stalkers were.

Visited during the Glow event when the gardens are beautifully lit. Plenty of parking and entered quickly. Needs to be pre-booked. Plenty to see during the walk round. Clean facilities and gift shop at the end. Thoroughly enjoyed it and a wonderful place to visit during the festive season. Highly recommend.

Accessible, beautiful and educational, the RHS gardens provide a grand day out for all the family. From landscapes, through kitchen gardens to hints on greening your car port, no gardening stone is left unturned. Wheelchairs and mobility scooters are available to those who need them, there is ample parking and teas, cakes, snacks and sandwiches can be had from two Betty's outlets on site. The gift shop is enormous and few who enter will leave as wealthy as they entered. From plants to books to garden furniture to luxury food and drinks there's something for everyone. As children often lack their elders' ability to be fascinated by plants, there a decent playground to keep them occupied.

Fantastic RHS Garden with a Betty’s Tea Room, Gift Shop and Garden Centre. Beautiful grounds with something colourful and spectacular for every season. Tropical garden added in 2020 which was still looking fairly good at the end of November. New area being worked on in November 2020, just as you enter the garden.

Love this place, any season it’s just beautiful. So happy they’ve managed to stay open during the lockdowns we’ve had. Great for kids too and there is always a little activity for them to do when walking around. Garden centre is well stocked too.
