Do not enter into a contract with this company. We did so about four years ago. We used the system about a year and then I got a new job and we moved to another state. We were in an apartment for a year and didn't want to install the system there. We then bought a house in a location where we don't feel we need the service. I informed Vivint of that but told them I would pay the contract since we had committed. Our decision to not use the service was not on them. I was told at the time that I would eventually get to lower the monthly rate. We have now been paying for Vivint service for almost four years. I was finally called back yesterday. I told them I wanted to see if they would let us out of the contract since we had paid the bulk of it. I thought they might do the right thing since we had paid so much of it and for a service we don't use. COVID has taken a bite out of our monthly income, and we could really use that 72 a month. I was first told I had a past-due balance. When I questioned that -- because we have a monthly withdrawal -- she said she was mistaken. She then very politely told me I would not be let out of the contract. When I asked for a lower rate, she said I could only get that if I, get this, RENEWED my contract. Also, when I originally called, I was on hold for a very long time. I finally left a message. It took about two weeks for them to call me back. When they say they are out to help out during these hard times because of COVID, so not true. These people truly are not out to help you in any way. I would give them no stars if I could.

Read the fine print! They will literally sue you and lien your home if you cancel. I used them for 2 years till I finally had enough of being charged for service calls because their own equipment would malfunction! I canceled and now they are literally threatening me with a lien on my home if I don’t pay them 2,800.00. In times like now when a lot of us are out of work due to Covid it shows what kind of company this is. They are ruthless and could care less about hardworking Americans.
I work for this company and they have really good standards that the upper management actually lives by. I’m proud to work for a company that doesn’t treat me like just another number. It’s an exciting and worthwhile company, whether you work for them or you’re a customer.
Love the system and the protection it provides for my loved ones. Would highly recommend this product for anyone who is looking to take further steps to protect their home.
I've had two systems installed at different houses and both times the technicians have done everything I asked and made sure everything was working before leaving.
Their home automation is amazing! :) The sales reps are outgoing and get the job done.
