Only 2 vegetarian options.... 1 entree 1 main... both drenched in balsamic vinegar. I am not strictly a vegetarian but I often don't eat meat. I managed to eat the haloumi skewers first but the main of vegetable stack was so acidic from all the vinegar it was burning my mouth! I normally don't send food back but I was hungry and there was no way I could eat it. Both the waitress and chef we're accommodating and the meal was remade however I honestly believe the chef just washed the balsamic out of the mushrooms! My husband enjoyed his steak but the overall experience was ruined as he ate his entire meal before I even received mine. In this day and age retreat restaurant really need to up their game from their traditional offerings of steak, chicken and salmon.

Great for a restaurant in a hotel. Service was great. Reasonable pricing. Our one issue which is minor was a delay on our meals.
I think Retreat Restaurant is a hidden gem. As a local I will definitely be returning.Me and my group of friends all enjoyed our meals and the experience.
We had a dinner of 16 & there was only 1 waitress who served us and her service was AMAZING 10/10 she definitely looked after our group (sorry i forgot her name it was on Saturday night) The food was amazing very cosy and warm inside as well.

Huge portions and tasty food, plus a free bottle of wine if you have a two course dinner each in a couple. Loved the steak, prawns and risotto. The panna cotta was quite good also. Great atmosphere and staff, we loved the experience.
