We were here today for dinner very nice cozy place as always! when i‘m craving for some mexican i come here, today we had our comfort food Quesadillas Carne and Empanadas very delicious, they have great cocktails as well. Very friendly, attentive nice Staff which i like in El Mexicano! Service is fast. Affordable price! We celebrated some occasions here like Birthdays etc. lovely music, latino vibes! We come here regularly i can say the taste and quality of food didn’t change for many years keep it up! Highly recommended!

My daughter had Birthday dinner today at El Mexicano. Food was excellent, good portions. Birthday person gets free meal with a drink & special fire candle. Staff were friendly, thank you for the great experience.
A spot worth visiting while in Basel! Very central located, good food and friendly stuff! Great atmosphere on the weekends, DJ and drinks! Highly recommended if you want to visit a positive place with Latino atmosphere. I will definitely go back when in Basel! It is also not too pricey, I would say standard as for Basel.
Very good. Nice place, nice food and music. Friendly staff. You can seat both inside or outside. The staff speaks all the languages. Swiss standard price, between 35 and 40 per person depending on the choices. In the very city center, in the pedestrian area starting from Barfusserplatz
Big, as in much table places, but still very cosy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Service is quick, professional and friendly. Food is good and tasteful. I visited this place on a Sunday and it was busy. Toilets are clean. I will certainly visit this place again.

CHF 6.50 for 1/2 l of water when I explicitly asked for tap water. Personnel without masks, licking their fingers to turn pages in the middle of a pandemic. No respect for customers. Disgusting experience!
The lunch menu is weird. I’ve been here for dinner and it was good so I ordered that again. I really like the enchiladas and nachos. But the lunch menu doesn’t make sense. Its Friday and cordon bleu isn’t Mexican, so we definitely ordered from the dinner menu.
