I used to love this store for all my pet needs and unfortunately due to the poor management and unprofessional service my family received on more than one occasion we had no choice but to shop elsewhere. The manager is lacking social skills, customer service skills and she’s got an attitude problem that will and has effected this business for sometime now...I work in the community and apparently she treats many other customers the same and they too have complained to head office and yet they choose to keep her a manager when clearly her staff is more fitting for her position, they are friendly, helpful and welcoming and until I see that someone re trains her or replaces her I will continue to shop elsewhere....worst pet store in Renfrew County and word of mouth is the best form of business and judging from some of the reviews here and other sites, I’m clearly not the only one with issues with this store.

The Renfrew store manager took away her support of a local animal rescue group, after years of holding fundraisers for them, holding food/litter drives and being a great supporter to the rescue group. A new rescue started and she has thrown all her support to them. With Pet Valu being such a great supporter of animal rescue groups, she could have very easily continued her fundraising efforts for the animals and divided it between both of the animal rescue groups but because the manager took a dislike to some of the members of the original rescue group, she decided to punish them by withdrawing her support, not thinking that it's the animals in the long run who are punished. I will shop at other Pet Valu stores but will not step foot in the Renfrew one until that manager is replaced. You can't just pick and choose when to be an animal lover or supporter.
Always clean, helpful and a huge selection. Curb pick up only right now.
Very friendly and helpful staff
The manager is rude and uninviting towards pet as well as owners. Definitely not the right fit for this job. Both Arnprior and Pembroke stores were pleasant to shop at, completely different environment. Telling like it is customer.
