A peaceful environment for beautiful walks. There are various trails to walk to make life easy. Plenty to enjoy.

So the actual forest is pretty good. Lots of impressive trees neatly planted in straight lines. The paths were quite busy on the Sunday we went but that was in August. There is a reasonable amount of parking. 2.50 for up to 2 hours or 4 all day. There are a few picnic tables and some basic children's play areas. We walked some of the UFO trail. Lots of trails for cyclists. Where it was disappointing was the facilities. Only one male and female toilet plus two portaloos. All were pretty disgusting. The catering stand did not look appetising. There was no attempt at any Covid measures. For 4 of parking, could surely have put some hand santisiter outside the toilets. So in summary, forest good. Facilities poor.
For a walk, cycle, picnic, play or even horse riding this place is brilliant. There is a variety of routes through the forest that are well signposted with play areas for children and picnic benches for lunch. The car park machine is cash only which feels a little out of date in this day and age. 2.50 for 2 hours, 4 all day. The mobile 'Bear Grills' van serves a very nice sausage bap along with other hot food and drink. The routes are very flat and ideal for young children cycling.
Mad fascination of all things UFO so this is a great place to visit. Also really good for off road cycling with a few routes through the forest or just nice for a calming walk.
Lovely place. You can only pay parking with cash which is very inconvenient and they have taken all the bins out so no where to put your rubbish. There's a nice burger van to get some food and hot drinks but again no where to put rubbish after.
