Literally the opposite of helpful. Don’t rock up here with something out of the norm (like a .... medical issue) because these people will not be able to help you. They seriously take offence to being asked about the abnormal (they also take offence to your inability to intuit what they classify as ‘abnormal’) and, in complete consistency with this attitude, if/when you do receive any medical advice it will be based on what these people would prefer to be wrong with you for which they will most generously suggest *drumroll* a homeopathic remedy you’ll probably need to pay money for. Expats be warned - this experience will shred your soul. Those used to US, AU, UK, Canadian or generally western over the counter medications should be aware that these don’t exist in the Dutch healthcare system. STOCK UP.
