Went to annual community yard sale at Lake California from a posting from one of the residents of Lake California that stated in the post, "the guards will let you in." The gaurd stated that an address was needed for entry. I gave him the address from one of the posts and he stated that this address was not on his list. A resident gave me an address of a couple of the yard sales and they were both declined stating that they were not on his list. A resident came to the gate to hand me a flyer for the yard sales and Nate, the supervisor aggressively snatched it from my friend. Nate was agressive, abusive and unprofessional. I drove 30 minutes to go to this event that more than one resident advertised, just to be treated this way. I have been to these in the past, with the exception of last year, and never had an issue. I am not sure if they were getting overwhelmed, having a bad day or were just jerks to begin with. If I treated the public like that at my job, I would find myself looking for new employment. North State Security should work on their public relations before attitudes like Nate's cost them clients.

I worked here for a couple years. Great company and fantastic staff. Everyone is friendly and you will have no problems! Most of the low rated comments are either simply untrue or they did something real bad & complain when punished. If you just do your job you will have no problems. I recommend this company if you're looking into security! You'll get some sick pay & they are not afraid of giving you overtime. You can basically work as much as you want. They will even work around your schedule if you are a college student. 5/5

Been sometime since I worked there but I will back up the negative reviewers. When I called in sick they sent another Guard to my door "to make sure I wasn't faking". I also got a reprimanded for literally doing my job. I guarded the ER at Shasta Regional Medical Center where both the hospital regs and the ones i received from north state said I could not keep anyone from leaving if they chose to leave. But the nurses had a tendency to tell me not to let certain patients leave, I would remind them I have not authority to keep them here, I can only advise them what the staff recommended, and alert the staff if they tried to leave. I would then have to defend myself from the nurses about the hospital policy on the fact that as a security guard, I am just a uniformed civilian, not a cop. When north state learned about these issues, I was basically told to do what the nurses say, Which is breaking the law. After getting yelled at for helping a man who nearly bled to death due to the staff ignoring him, I quit. Which was a good thing, moved back into aviation and now instruct future mechanics.

Not a good place to work for. The boss has no understanding of family and makes rude, condescending remarks like "well if you don't come in you can turn in your badge". Our 2 month old was in ICU at UC Davis, we weren't sure if he was going to make it. My fiance needed to be there for his baby and the boss, Craig was very rude about him taking time off to be there for him. He made the comment of turning in his badge. He eventually gave him the time off but he always had to make his rude comments or make my fiance feel more awful than he already did. They have NO tact or professionalism there. I do not recommend anyone with a family to work there. We are not the only people who have had these issues. I've talked to several former employees who have stated the same issues. Though my fiance appreciated the job opportunity and the time off when needed, it was still not a professional place. He should not have been treated the way he was treated.

One of the worst places to work. The expect you to work long hours for little pay. The staff is something else from lying to employees and to law enforcement. I used to work for this company and at first they made it seem like a really good and fun place to be. I have had to work long overtime hours because of short staff. My pay was always late and most of the time short of overtime hours. When you need time off and asked way before the time you needed off they would tell you they have no one to cover the shift so you had to show up. i Lost my job because i had to ask for time off to help my mother with a surgery. i gave them 3 weeks notice that i needed the days off but they did not care. the worst place to work...
