I love these guys. I think they're really smart, they obviously care, their quality is top-notch, and they stand behind their work. And they don't just stand behind it, they drive the entire industry to "be better." It's a literal truth that new equipment is created to meet their needs, because the old equipment can't be refined enough to accurately measure how stellar their results are. The old equipment's not good enough. The Docs are no-nonsense and driven to make your house awesome.

We hired Energy Docs and Mike MacFarland to perform an energy audit of a house we are purchasing, and are extremely glad we took this admittedly unusual step. His inspection, report, and knowledge were incredibly thorough, and provided us tremendous insight into the home's energy performance, which helped us in our purchase decision and negotiations. Since heating and cooling cost several hundred dollars per month, these insights will save us much more than the 300 cost, even within the first year. Mike's normal scope of work includes a visual inspection plus a blower door test and duct test. We discussed the scope of this pre-purchase situation and agreed that the mechanical tests, while valuable, would be more than necessary in this case. Mike did a visual inspection that was extremely thorough, and allowed me to accompany him for the majority. He was adept at describing his methods and observations as we went, and I was soaking up the knowledge. It was fascinating and enlightening to hear his simple explanations of pressure and temperature boundaries, dew point, insulation characteristics, and even the way he uses spider webs as telltale indicators of airflow. Whether you already own your home or are considering a purchase, call the Energy Docs to find out how you can save huge amounts of your monthly energy spend.
