We were were surprised what a beautiful, clean beach Redcar was, and huge too! Definitely worth a visit, even if it's just for a stroll. We only went for a quick walk, but the beach was unexpectedly gorgeous completely empty.

Brilliant beach, huge car park, dogs allowed, ice cream stand and burger stand, no toilets at the car park. The beach in town doesn't allow dogs between May and end of September. Loads of arcades, shops and restaurants. Oliver's fish and chips the best in town but a long wait. Redcar not as pretty as saltburn by the sea but a good day out.
I really enjoyed seeing all of the sights. A place to visit asap whilst the petrified forest is still visible.
Staying clear of the Town Centre we chose to walk on the beach to the south. Not looking for anything other than a wide open long flat beach, we enjoyed the walk and the sea air. Didn't see any litter mentioned in other reviews, but perhaps that's because we chose to venture further South.
Great beach. Amazing sand dunes. Kids loved it.
Fabulous place! We went yesterday to see the petrified forest on the beach that's 7000 years old! It hasn't emerged to this extent for 50 years, and no one knows when it will disappear again under the sands. Visit now to see for yourself.
We go here on a regular basis, nice beach for going for a paddle and building sand castles with the kids. Plenty to do while your there and lovely places to have your meals out, at a fair price aswel. If you fancy staying over there are a couple of great places to book to stay, with tea, coffee, television in room and a nice breakfast on a morning. Also they have a soft play area, indoor swimming pool and lots more activities. A good vary of shops to look around aswel.
Great place to have right on your door step... we're very lucky.
