I couldnt be happier with the piano that I bought from westrate pianos. I was looking for a piano that was older and had a soul to it. I am a good pianist and I know what I want in a piano. Awesome service guys! You sold me exactly what I was looking for. Very professional.. prompt service and an extremely warm lovely family. Thank you so much..you're the best nancy van Ringen

Paid a visit to Weststrate pianos, as I had a piano that I wanted some work done on. It was hard to believe how rude the owner was, as well as his son. Extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. They spent a lot of time criticizing my piano, and the professional work that was being done to it by other masters in the field. The work I offered to them they labeled as impossible, like restringing, and regulating an instrument that was in excellent original condition. Their shop looked like a derelict out building, with old soundboards and pin blocks piled over top of one another along the walls. Massive fire hazard, and poor organization, I would recommend anyone with an important heirloom piece to take their prized instrument elsewhere.

Awesome. Just bought a 1918 Heintzman upright grand from them. Beautifully restored, perfect condition. I stumbled upon these guys one day while hunting for a good piano online. I had never heard of them before and am not from Red Deer. I called, on a holiday, expecting to leave a message. Owner “Peter” answered and happily took the time to chat with me. He’s 84 years old, I hope I’m half as switched on as him when I get there! He patiently listened to what I was looking for, and recommended the Heintzman. We had to see it on a weekend, living out of area, Peter accommodated us on his time off. The piano was as described, stunning condition in every respect, ringing the Heintzman sound. Their shop is something else. Peter and his sons restore and even build pianos. I could have spent a few more hours there just checking things out. Given that I had no prior knowledge of weststrate pianos I was a little nervous when making the purchase, hoping that my experience with pianos was enough to know I bought a good one. Peter’s son delivered the piano a few days after we bought it. It’s an instant hit in this house, we love the sound. I get to play, my 5 year old has already spent hours playing it, the baby asks to sit and play and even my husband decided he’s going to give teaching himself to play a go. What a joyful buy. Westrate pianos is a one-of-a-kind Canadian gem. I believe it’s time the trend swung back around and learning to play music again became an important part of a families activities. Score yourself a restored turn of the century piano while you still can, they will be precious someday and nothing else plays like them.
