I first met Laura of Pop-up Reading a few years ago before she started Nomad Bakery and the bread she was selling back then was already outstanding. Ever since the doors opened in Caversham I have been meaning to visit, but never got around to it. Today I finally did. What a treat. The bread was as good as I had remembered, plus the coffee and sweat treats... Outstanding! The cafe is decorated in a rustic fashion with a jumble of mismatched items that somehow come together to create an arty and cosy feel. The little courtyard out the back is brilliant for lunch on a sunny day.

This is a true hidden gem! Their sandwiches are delicious.

A great little independent coffee shop/bakery in central Caversham that does hot dishes and brunches as well as excellent fresh bread, teas & coffees. Friendly bi-lingual service even when it was a sweltering hot Sunday in June, the fridge was packing in and we arrived late in the day. Large NCP car park to the rear, which is free on Sundays. We'll be back.

worthy and tightly compact cafe/restaurant and bakery smack bang inside bustly Caversham. strong on vegan food and the gluten free with complentary wooden tables and chairs, nice attractive looking organic bread on the shelf.the coffee was just fine, just try not to forget to pay on your way out.

On my birthday I ran around Reading looking for vegan cake but all places were sold out... And then I got to Nomad and there it was. Or more like THEY WERE. They still got 2 cakes and loads of other vegan (and gluten free) treats for me to buy. I got a slice of carrot cake and it was heavenly. The staff were so incredibly nice and I can only tell you that that visit was my first one but definitely not the last! The place is quite small and often full and crowded as everyone loves Nomad Bakery so much but otherwise... A perfect place and their iced teas are wonderful.

Nomad is the sort of place that so many cafes and coffee bars try to be. It has an artsy vibe to its interior with a hotchpotch of reclaimed, distressed furniture filling the tiny room and an artfully decorated blackboard wall, drawing your attention to the food and drink possibilities. It is an amazing bakery, their bread is truly outstanding and the wealth of cakes and sweet treats on offer make it the perfect destination whether you're buying a loaf, getting a coffee or stopping for lunch. All eating preferences are catered for whether you're an omnivore, vegetarian or vegan. Pick your own filling toasties need to be tried to be believed; they are that good.

Very tasty food, good options for allergen needs. I had a delicious vegan cheese and bacon toastie and a cashew milk hot chocolate. Laura stocks a wide range of plant milks and teas. The selection of fresh cakes is amazing for a small place, I took two slices home for later. The pineapple cake was delicious. Also selling packaging free fruit and veg out the front at a very good price and great looking produce.
