A perfect retreat if you want to enjoy nature and want self time. Everything is so calm and fresh. Not at all commercialised, silent and serene. Unlike Shimla and other hill stations, away from city chaos. Extremely cold in winter and night are so peaceful. Basically a military area. This place is still so much natural that you may spot wild animals on the hills. Visit to temple Jhula devi and fruits garden is must. Nainital is nearly 3 hours from Ranikhet. Nearest station is Kathgodam, nearly 3.5 hrs from Ranikhet. You can easily see snowcovered nanda devi mountain range from many places. You may find snowfall once in a year, mostly in January. Excellent place to enjoy nature beauty, excellent view of Himalaya. Few tourist places are there but not well maintained. Overnight stay will be enough.
