I am addicted to Dianne’s yoga classes and have been for years. They are a therapy I depend on for my physical and mental well-being. I have tried a number of yoga classes here in Sydney as well as in overseas countries, but hers definitely comes on the top. The classes are small and participants get an individualized attention. Dianne has a master knowledge of the body and helps people in an expert way to get into the correct positions or work around their particular problems/restrictions. I often surprise myself how far I can go with the right technique and Dianne’s gentle adjustment. It always amazes me how quickly the 1.5 hour class is over.

I have been doing yoga for 20 years and when I found Diane at Yoga Light it felt like I had found the right place with the right energy. Diane has a peaceful energy, which will help you be present to your session. In private sessions, Diane also adapts her teachings to my needs and it is so valuable.
I love attending Dianne's classes. I've gone to her since I first started yoga 10 years ago with lower back pain. Not long after starting, my back pain disappeared. And I keep coming back - it's addictive. She really takes the time to understand and support everyone's unique quirks. I highly recommend!!!
Yoga with Dianne is always fun, challenging and supportive. Dianne is a gifted and intuitive teacher and she creates a very inclusive and trusting atmosphere in her classes. I have been to many yoga schools and there are a handful of teachers that are very special and Dianne Black is one of them.
I started attending classes at Yoga Light 4 months ago and I now cant imagine my weeks without it! Having had a few years break from yoga, I was keen to get back into it to improve my mental and physical health, yet I was nervous to join a studio, particularly in the eastern suburbs. I am so glad that I decided to contact Dianne. Those who attend Dianne's class are a mix of abilities and ages. With small class sizes, Dianne knows us all by name and has an amazing ability to quickly gauge our individual strengths and limitations. Throughout the classes Dianne constantly provides individual guidance and pose correction. If our body limit us in some way, Dianne amends the pose for individuals so as to not cause any injury or strain. Her approach is gentle and kind, yet she encourages us to progress and push ourselves according to our individual abilities. No one is ever left out and there is no sense of competition. We are there for ourselves and to encourage eachother. There are always lots of laughs and smiles as we challenge ourselves to strengthen our practice. Since starting the classes only 4 months ago, I have seen a huge change in my physicality - I am stronger and more flexible (I can now touch my toes in a seated bend!). My understanding of yoga has increased and the benefits it has on my stress-reduction and anxiety is immeasurable. I highly recommend trying a class at Yoga Light if you're up for a small-class environment and hands on approach that will result in huge benefits to your mental and physical health.
Hi Dianne, I love your classes and look forward to coming every week. I really value the individual direction that you give me. Otherwise there really wouldn’t be much benefit for me attending a class.
I had wanted to return to yoga for some time, but was worried as I had not been practicing regularly for years and I was out of shape and inflexible. Yoga has become so popular now and my fear was to be in a large class, feeling very self-conscious and unable to keep up. I am very grateful (and relieved) to have found Dianne’s yoga classes. The classes are small and welcoming, and Dianne gives each student individual attention, adjusting our alignment, or the posture, so that we all receive the benefit of each movement. Dianne’s patient and supportive teaching style is encouraging. She is not judgmental, which in turn influences the culture of the class. In six weeks my flexibility has improved and I feel stronger and “stretched out”. I am so pleased that I found the right place.
Reading all the reviews here you get a real sense of Dianne’s dedication to her practice, which extends to her life outside the classroom. I stumbled upon Yoga Light by accident in 2011. The chance meeting turned into a transformational journey of a lifetime. To practice yoga under Dianne’s supervision you will feel cared for and genuinely supported. Although there may be up to 10 people per class you will still feel like you getting one on one attention. Dianne’s ability to transfer healing energy as she gently persuades your body to correct itself will encourage you to join the loyal following. You have a real understated treasure at Yoga Light Randwick.
