Nice Irish cafe/restaurant/bar in Clovelly. Lots of traditional Irish dishes on the menu. And they know how to pour a Guinness here. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Best Irish food I’ve had in Australia and I’ve been here over 30 years and tried many different places. Guinness is top notch and just like home. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Both times we were there were very busy but both food and drinks were served in good time. I highly recommend this fantastic cafe/bar to anyone looking for a great meal and an awesome “Irish “ experience.

Best fry up in Sydney along with the Best pint of Guinness in Australia. The trad session is always great fun. Marty & B are sure to make you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door!

I visited here yesterday with a group of friends. We booked a table for 20 to which we were surprised they took given the circumstances at the minute. We all showed up on time to an already very busy cafe. We were allocated 2 tables that didn’t quite accomodate us all. We asked for a couple of extra chairs but were told we would have to just “squeeze”. The table beside us, a lovely group of people, informed us that they would be leaving soon and that we could use their table. We were more than happy with that. The owner then asked the table beside us to move while he sarcastically shouted to ensure that everyone else in the restaurant heard him say that we were “a very important group of people“ and needed different treatment, numerous times. The group beside us also thought this was outrageous treatment from the owner. They didn’t mind moving but did think that it was uncalled for how he spoke to us. All of the other staff that served us were lovely. If you can’t accommodate for a large group, don’t take the booking. I will definitely not be back. I have never been treated nor have a seen anyone receive that sort of treatment in a restaurant before.

I had the irish stew with wheaten bread and it was delicious, just like back home in Derry. I will definitely be back to try the chips and curry sauce, gammon steak and the fry up. Oh and soda bread. Yummo.

Very disappointing service and extremely rude owner, which is a shame because the bar and waiting staff were very nice. I was part of a group that had booked a table at 11am that morning for 20 people for 6pm later that evening. We had all turned up on time to be squashed into a table that would barely fit 10-12 people. The person who organised the table polity spoke to the owner and asked was there any way to get more room as we had a booking since that morning. It would have been as different story if we had tried to come in from the street demanding a table for 20 but the owner shouldn't have taken the booking that morning if he could not accommodate 20 people. The owner was so rude in his response and began to shout out about our group. A table beside us saw what was happening and kindly said that they would move so we could fit. However the owner, highly intoxicated, began to make a scene shouting to that group could they move to another table as "we were very important group of people". The owner made our group fell very intimidated and even more embarrassed and only for some of the group had already ordered and paid we would have walked out. The owner gained a substantial income from our group as all ate and had at least one drink. I will be avoiding this establishment again even if the owner is sober or like last night very drunk.

Went in here for an Irish breakfast on a Sunday morning, which was exactly like it is back home. Stayed on to the late afternoon and had a great time! Martin the manager is a top man, who serves the best Guinness in the eastern suburbs and I hear he’s doing dry July!
