A great place. The building which houses this library Has a big historical value and is under ASI (archaeological survey of India). The Library in itself is an important one as it has some very rare and valuable manuscripts and books. Especially in Arabic, Persian Urdu and Sanskrit languages. It even has some rare books of Pali language too which happens to be the oldest language of India.

No. 1 Library in India. And best in the Asia. It was founded by the former Nawab of Rampur Raza Ali Khan. He founded many more institutions in Rampur province at the time he was ruling Rampur. One of it's is Raza Degree College. This library is situated inside the Rampur Fort. It have oldest manuscripts and weapons from last 2-3 century.
Growing up in Rampur, I've spent countless days in the cozy alleys of this library. The collection of books that they have is really old...it's hard to find anything useful in here... still the building just has it's own distinct sense of magnificence that enraptures you into it's peaceful serenity. Truly a must visit if you are in Rampur.
