To start, let me say the food here is fantastic - whenever I think about a really good place I want to go that serves dishes that punch me in the face with their awesome flavors, I think of Spize. But I can only give 3 stars because the place is hardly ever open when I can get downtown to eat there. They used to be open until 4 pm I think, and for a few hours on Saturday, but in early October their hours changed to Monday-Friday from 11am-3pm. I typically don't have time during those 4 hours to get down there and even pick up something for takeout. But when I can make it there, I'm in Thai fusion heaven. I usually get the red curry with shrimp, which is phenomenally spicy and delicious. It literally makes my nose run, and every time I get it, I usually cough the first couple of bites because it's so spicy. The curry has bamboo shoots and zucchini and some other additions, and it's served with rice and seasonal vegetables that are nice and fresh. A couple of people I know swear by the Pork Baguette Sandwich, which I've had once and did enjoy. The lemongrass is what makes this sandwich amazing! The restaurant does sell the curries and marinades on their own, as well. I've ordered the Thai Red Curry with Fresh Basil and it's awesome - just add some veggies/protein to it, serve over rice and it's like you've got Spize in your house. I've heard the lemongrass marinade is just as good. In sum, I love the food here - a lot - but don't get to enjoy it very much because of the business hours.

Great food and good prices. Tasty mix of Asian dishes, some with a twist. Everything tastes fresh. The lighting and seating make it better suited for lunch than dinner, but you can also take your curry to go. :)

I am a fiend for the lemongrass pork baguette and the lemongrass pork salad. But you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It's all good and soooo flavorful. Seriously. When I go I usually order two meals--one to eat in, the other to eat at home later. Downside is they aren't open at times when I need them to be and the space is small. Still it is a must visit if you want a fresh, unique and tasty meal.

Great food at a reasonable price in downtown Raleigh. This is not that common. The flavor and heat of the Thai curry was great. Serving size is adequate for a guy for lunch if you are not starving.

One of my fav downtown Raleigh restaurants! Great food, and service operated by really nice people. Plus, their value system totally rocks!

Their baguette sandwiches and Thai red curry is the best I ever had in Raleigh/Cary.

Creative Asian cuisine, great atmosphere (for lunch), great service (they're always very helpful with my peanut allergy - never had a problem here!).
