We learned about John’s Moving and Storage from our realtor and could not have been more pleased. Office staff Jill and Jennifer are great when it comes to responsiveness and accurate estimates. The moving team, which we have used on two occasions now, is incredible. Polite, professional, extremely careful with items, and adept. And there were no surprises when it came to financial settlement. In fact, on both occasions actual charges were less than the estimate. We can recommend John’s without reservation.

We had a rather complex move from a home into an apartment with most of our belongings going into storage for about two months followed by a move out of the apartment and storage and into our new home. It was actually four separate moves and we got to see many different people handling our belongings. Overall, we were very happy with the care that was taken to protect our stuff. Was it perfect? No. Did it meet our expectations? Absolutely! Every employee we dealt with was courteous and treated us with respect. All were friendly. Some got five stars for their ability to handle every situation perfectly. Others did acceptable work. That's normal. I used to manage 25 employees and the employee evaluations went from \Outstanding\ to \Needs Improvement\. But every employee added value to the department. And, as far as moving goes, I hate moving and would not have wanted to manage this move by myself. I was more than satisfied with every aspect of the move by John's Moving & Storage.

I have been a resident of the Triangle for 26 years and have used John’s moving several times. In fact other members of my family have also used John’s with very favorable results. Our moves were both local as well as two moves between N.C. and S.C. My most recent experience using John’s was far from the norm and very disappointing. When Jamal visited us for the initial estimate, in conversation Jamal mentioned John K. Retired and Todd was now the owner. Todd apparently worked for John but I never met Todd and was not familiar with him as I had only dealt directly with John. In summary the crew was not prepared to handle the very heavy furniture we discussed at the initial meeting and a sofa was damaged. The crew was not intending to protect the floor at the stop where one delivery was scheduled. The crew developed an attitude after we insisted on protecting the newly installed carpet. The crew delivered the bulk of the furniture in the rain and marginally protected our property. From my experience, the new John’s Moving is certainly not the old John’s moving. The only saving grace to our poor experience was, Jill was pleasant to deal with, but at the same time, not too apologetic. The new John’s Moving pricing is also higher than the old John’s Moving pricing. For the owner’s reference, all of my paperwork says Steven Mack. The move started 5/22/18.
