Friendly and informative. Stunning embroidery. Lots to think about. Cafe not open on Monday.

I visited the venue for a staff training day. Very close to the centre of Kendal & handy for the shops. Parking at the venue & a Vegan cafe.

The tapestry is amazing; to be able to see it so up close was great. The museum itself has lots of information on Quakers and how they have contributed to society over the years with effects still felt, as well as a video demo on how the tapestry panels were seen. I couldn't resist buying a kit to have a go myself. The audio guide is included in the price, and offers extra information on some of the panels--to have commentary on all 40 would be overwhelming, I think, do this is a nice balance.

Nice place. Only around 40 of the 70 odd tapestries were on display. Lots of other stuff to see though. Wasn't free to get in as I was expecting from a museum. But I was happy to contribute to a belief system that actually feels worthwhile, not oppressive or preachy.

Loved the historical experience! I was inspired to do new tapestry for Quaker involvement in founding international nonprofits like Amnesty International, Oxfam...
