Gorgeous place. Years of memories for me at least. Recommend highly to anyone nearby.

Absolutely huge common with grassland, heathland and wooded areas. Sandy paths along the walks through open spaces. A wonderful place for dogs to run off lead in a safe environment. Lots of parking, but it gets very busy on weekends by late morning. Not a problem once you have parked, because the area is so huge. The only downsides are, narrow roads to get there, only having bins in the car parks and no toilets. But it is free and brilliant. The first picture is just leading from the top car park to the main part of the common. After that it opens up.

Nice mixed area of hills, ponds, forests, woods and heathland. Good for nature including deers and kingfisher. Great viewpoint at the top. Theirs also a couple of car parks. The area is really underrated the variety of habitat is actually breathtaking. The main trail takes you across health into the forest where their is a really good chance to spot deer. The birdlife is good too with all sorts of unusual birds and their calls. The viewpoint is quite a walk but its worth it with wonderful views of the region.

A great place to go for a walk and get some fresh air. Plenty of paths to take. Some good viewpoints as well.
