I teach Kathy McCrary's son. I was disappointed with the curriculum. It suggests things parents can do but have to do the curriculum yourself instead of having workbooks. I have bought workbooks myself to do the work suggested. 600 was a lot to spend for work the parents have to come up with themselves. I have taught other homeschool curriculum and they providedworkboo k s and textbooks for 400 or less. Very disappointed in yours.

The third grade Oak Meadow curriculum is outstanding. It has been engaging and deeply informative.

I obtained my high school diploma with Oak Meadow, as my independent alternative to attending public or private school. I loved the experience and the teachers connecting with me remotely. This experience prepared me for college and a lifetime of continued discipline for independent learning.

We have loved the Oak Meadow school and curriculum. Two of my children completed 5th - 9th grade with Oak Meadow. It is challenging, but it provides students with a road map of HOW to learn, and keeps them engaged in the process of inquiry. Currently, my youngest is working on Oak Meadow 7 as an independent student, it has been a really great year for him. He has been doing Oak Meadow since 2nd grade. We approach his final year with a bit of sadness. Overall, the curriculum is strongly geared toward meeting children where they are emotionally, psychologically and developmentally. In the early years there is a nice emphasis on project work and getting outside to discover the world around the student. Some of the best aspects of the Steiner Pedagogy, like a gentle approach to reading, strong foundations in basic math before moving on to more complex work and taking time to synthesize what is read before doing work on it are retained in this curriculum for primary and middle school. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the High School program. Here, the school becomes very focused on students completing an extraordinary amount of work, in a short time, with very little guidance. 36 lessons are due over 40 weeks so if you need or want extra time to study, that isn't available.Teachers review what has been completed every two weeks, but don't tend to offer assistance going forward. There is far too much pressure on students to get \perfect\ grades and turn in huge volumes of work. Since enrolling in the school costs as much as a private school, and the overall experience was really pretty rough, we withdrew our students from the enrollment.

Over 5 years I have purchased 5 different grade curriculums from Oak Meadow bookstore that I teach in my home. I really enjoy what Oak Meadow publishes. Having access to their homeschool program helps me create a learning environment like the one we saw in action with one of our children at a lovely Waldorf inspired charter school in Sonoma, CA, USA. I hope Oak Meadow does not change too much with the newest US Government Regulations on school children and teachers and what information they exchange in the name of \education\.
