The good thing about this hospital is that after you walk into the foyer, you can press a green button to let yourself out again. Hospital staff here can pride themselves on knowing how to waste an entire day’s shift so that they are free to be rude to patients, play Uno with consultation documents and, if the day’s turnout is looking good, they will make sure to be racist to tourists in order to welcome them to Australia. I choose Proserpine Hospital not only because I want to be insulted by reception staff, but because I love to be left waiting in pain for long amounts of time. The best part of it all, you will never hear from the Hospital again. Not even for urgent test results. Great work! (Next time you’re having a health crisis and need a Hospital, risk it all and drive to Mackay)

This hospital is the worst! I had a x-ray on my ankle to be told by 3 different doctors different things and sent home to walk on it. Then got a phone call 4 days later, it was urgent I come in for a ct scan as they found a fracture and I might need to be in a cast then get told I can use a moon boot, I left the hospital and after 5 mins get a phone call to come back to have a cast put on.
The best hospital in Qld...my thanks go out to the ambulance staff who were very prompt..helpful and proffesional despite a 3am and 4am call out. To Dr Tan who diagnosed me perfectly despite the case senario of what i thought had happened...and to nurse Claudia who made my stay all the more enjoyable with her happy bedside manner and smiles Thank you to all the staff on many visits i have had to make over 37 yrs of living in this area..and keep up the good work..as i for one really appreciate it...thanks Pete
My partner was extremely ill, vomiting for hours and hours in extreme abdominal pain and intense nausea. After explaining 4 times that he had a viral infection from another friend whom also had it, they still came to their own conclusions. Because he had the shakes from being hot and cold, the intern just said it was "withdrawals" from drugs(??) and he could just rest at home. Anyway, went back to gold coast hospital and he is now getting treated properly with medications and attentive staff. And if left untreated for any longer, he could have developed severe stomach issues. Thanks for literally doing nothing Proserpine.
When my daughter split her chin on the bottom of the swimming pool we ended up at Proserpine Hospital emergency. We were holidaying in the area and we rang four GP clinics and none could help us. At Proserpine Hospital the nurse and doctors were super helpful and had us glued up and back into our holiday in no time.
I was rushed there the other day with hypokalemia. I was not well, but I felt like I was being cared for by Angels. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the wonderful staff who took care of me. Thank you

Presented to the hospital after a fall at Airlie beach, mid morning after seeing triage I was left in a room alone for ages before seeing a doctor who had absolutely no bedside manner and then being sent to X-ray which showed a broken hip (X-ray were totally awesome) lacerated elbow which was eventually stitched up, at no stage was I given any pain relief I had taken a Panadol before I left for the hospital (there for approx 5 hours) was given a nerve block before I left by ambulance (did not work) Was transferred to Mackay base hospital late arvo. Nurses were lovely just very disappointed in the pain relief department .
