Generally speaking, it’s a nice beach with plenty of sea food restaurants along the coast, although in terms of aesthetics you can’t really compare it to the playas on the Caribbean side. In my opinion, the biggest advantage of the beach is that it’s quite close to Merida.

Progreso has come a long way. They are making a big effort to make it one of the nicest beaches in Mexico. It still has the small town feel, without the business and hecticness of Tulum. The sea is tranquil and the sand clean. New restaurants and hotels open up.

The road to the sea is very interesting to see, but nothing touristly impressive.

Place is beautiful, just be careful with the guys with the umbrellas by the beach, from Restaurant costa Azul,

Progreso is a really calm and chill place in merida to go and play some beach volleyball, hang out with some friends, play football, and take a nice swim. Additionally, they offer some nice drinks with ceviche which is really nice to hit it off!

Did not like Progresso. Water is not clear. Sand is just ok. Good to walk on the beach or the Malecon but quite far from Mérida. Also, the pier spoils the view.

It's a long Pier, plenty of restaurants, street vendors. Beach huts and s nice beach to relax or tan.
