Staff was rude first time I went. It’s good enough to show up and shoot but staff needs a customer service lesson

I have usually had a great experience at the PG County Trap & Skeet, but this past fall we had a terrible interaction with an employee. He was rude, unhelpful, and made us feel completely uncomfortable for being there. It is unfortunate when you go to a place that is usually helpful and interact with an employee like that. We still had fun shooting trap and enjoyed the brisk November day.

Have shot skeet here many times over the past couple years. Typically has 2 or 3 skeet fields open, the wobble stand, and 1 field for trap. They have a sporting clay field; however, I have not tried that out. Prices are fairly decent, and I think it is a better facility compared to Bull Run. Did have a bad experience this past weekend trying to shoot skeet - There was a large group (5-7 people, 5-6 shooters), who essentially called dibs on 1 of 2 skeet fields. After watching them shoot 2 games of skeet, we attempted to change out with them for our two rounds (there were 2 other people waiting as well). However, they did not want to give up the field. When one of the workers came by for our tickets, he said that the group came there often, and he did not do anything to enforce the \2 games while people are waiting\ rule. They were ice\ enough to let us shoot one game while they encroached on the field as we shot (the two other people walked to wait at the other field). We shot one game, and they immediately walked onto the field after we shot at station 8. We ended up going to the other open field and waiting a bit for that one to open up. After shooting 2 games on the other field, we walked back only to see that large group still shooting (this was almost 1.5-2 hours after we arrived). Moral of the story? Be prepared to wait if you aren't a frequent shooter here. Everyone else we meet are usually great about letting other shooters in with them and maintaining the 2 games rule.

Our instructors were awesome--patient and good natured. We had a group of 10 and made us all feel welcome, no matter our skill level. They made for a great time.
