Would definitely recommend. Lovely to get away from the hustle and bustle of Padstow Harbour! A very beautiful house with a very interesting history having managed to stay in the same family all these years. Amazing that the current owners still live there and seem to be happy to coexist with the tourists. It gives such a personal and interesting insight. Slightly odd tour guide but maybe that's some of the charm! Had cake and coffee in the café which was very nice. Gardens are relatively small which means they are easy to get round. Whole tour of house, gardens and cake took about 2 1/2 hours but you could spend much longer if you wanted. Cost 10 per adult for house and gardens including tour.
Nice traditional residence/stately home/manor house with a huge garden & park behind. A guided tour inside the building is very interesting & awesome. You should book it, even it is not for free. Unfortunately, it's not allowed to take pictures inside the house, as it is private and some family members are still living in it. You are travelling back in time to a forgotten period of history. A really different world.
The house was closed but the gardens are superb it was a lovely sunny and warm day. We my friends and I had a lovely meal in the restaurant the service was excellent and so was the food. A great place worth visiting.
We went asa family of 10, and I have got to say that it was a great experience and well worth a visit, the children enjoyed feeding the goats and the fox's, and the highlight of my day was holding the barn owl.. Highly recommended
