I couldn't recommend this place any less. Amid the relaxation in the lockdown restrictions toward the end of summer, I visited with my family. Despite booking a table, we were left waiting outside in the extreme cold with pouring rain for more than half an hour after the time we had booked for. The staff on duty that night, to use an old phrase, couldn't have organised a piss-up in a brewery. Terrible (the food wasn't great, either).

Was there with a friend this week taking advantage of the eat out help out scheme. The staff were professional and friendly, they have a very good set up in place with regards to covid rules. The food was tasty as always, I ordered the mushroom and cheese toasty but was given the sundried tomato and cheese panini. Didn't send it back as my friend had ordered garlic bread with cheese as a main which came out before mine so if I'd sent it back she'd have finished before I'd started. As I've said food was still tasty just a shame it wasn't what I'd ordered.

Loved the place. It seemed very oldy worldly. I didn't have time to find out about the place. Was there a train station there or was it just because of the canal ? Room very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast great. Only problem is as everywhere, staff don't want to say please to you. All a bit abrupt. Especially when I think we all need to be extra nice these days. Will go back.

This is a lovely place to visit, we had a lovely meal in the restaurant, the lasagne and garlic bread was amazing. Lovely walks along the canal. I would recommend a visit.

Lovely quirky buildings, shame not open due to covid.
