This hidden gem in Madeira is absolutely worth visiting !! The place is very cozy and the ambience is very relaxing. We had been there several times and love their toasties especially the one with sweet potato and old Amsterdam cheese. Loved the Portuguese custard tart too. Very welcoming and wonderful people. We really look forward to coming back again when in Madeira.

Some of the few places on the island that serves artisanal-style coffee. Delicious cakes and authentic Dutch sweet bites. Very fair price and nicely located in a humble neighbourhood. Definitely a \stop by\ spot!
One of three single origin specialty coffee shops in Madeira (during the pandemic, maybe they used to be more). It is further from Madeira but I simply love it and visit it once a week. Mostly for the coffee, but they have good sandwiches/toasts (the one with beetroot is amazing), chocolate and desserts. It is a small coffee shop with a lovely personality!
XS Cafe is an amazing little spot located within a traditional local building in Prazers right next to the local church. It features a small wooden clad but cosy interior with cakes and various hot drinks options. The outside has a few tables and chairs to relax and enjoy the local surroundings in quiet area, and if your lucky you might get a few friendly furry friends come and say hello.
We stumbled upon this little gem on day one of our holiday and we’re so glad we did. We had a delicious coffee, toastie & apple pie. We had to go back for more before leaving the island. The staff is lovely, delicious food in a cute little cafe.
Amazing cafe in rural Madeira! Tasty coffee, fresh juice, toasties, and desserts. Lovey to sit outside in the sunshine and have the owner’s friendly cat come join for a visit. We went to the cafe several times during our stay - such a hidden gem!
Amazing find in Prazeres, the apple pie is out of this world. So is the coffee. If you’re anywhere on the island, you will not regret coming here except on Mondays and Tuesdays since they’re currently closed on those days.
Vegan and vegetarian options mostly, fast internet and craft beer.
