Although dwarfed by the neighbouring cathedral, St. George's Basilica is still impressive in it's own right, with the Romanesque architecture of the facade offering a dramatic contrast to the Gothic styling of St. Vitus'. The interior is comparatively small, but there is no reason not to visit whilst at the castle. Recommended.

This basilica is beautiful again architecture and design is second to none. It has beautiful paintings inside which you can only appreciate of you see it in person. Must visit if you are in Prague castle

This is a beautiful holy place that is built in a diffetent style compared to St Vitus Cathedral. Its currently being renovated, and the results so far are impressive. There are pictures hanging, which deserve to be seen up close to really appreciate them. Don't expect to be amazed in the same way as St Vitus Cathedral. Its still well worth a visit.

It is small and maybe not as impressive as other churches that Prague has to offer, but it is included in the ticket so why not visit it? It would only take about 5-10 mins :)

The Basilica of St George is one of the churches within the grounds of Prague Castle complex and is supposed to be one of the oldest. Obviously the church has undergone many changes over the centuries and the current Baroque facade only dates back to the 17th century. Because much of the church was destroyed in the intervening centuries, the church was rebuilt with the asme Baroque facade, but the interiors have been restored to the original Romanesque form. The Romanesque interior is fairly austere and monumental at the same time. The tombs of members of the ruling Premyslid dynasty are situated in the main nave, including Prince Vratislav, father of St. Wenceslas (he’s buried somewhere else). There’s a two sided stairwell leading up to the high altar which was quite unusual. Overall, I enjoyed visiting the church for it’s contrasting styles and unusual features. I think it’s worth a look if visiting Prague Castle.

Old church part of the basic tickets package inside of Prague Castle. This is second of four sites in the package. Very beautiful and interesting history.

Worth a little wonder around while your passing on your way to Golden Alley near the palace.
