If I could give 0 stars, I would. I spent years in pain because of Dr. Rosenthal. I told him I thought I had Cluster Headaches, and he said “What are you, crazy? You get migraines. Plain and simple,” and put me on Maxalt and the supplement Butterbur, which did nothing to help me. My nurse once called him in the middle of one of my attacks to ask what she should do - I was right there, and I will never forget the way he talked down to her. Two and a half years later, I went to get a second opinion on a whim, and was immediately diagnosed with Cluster after describing my symptoms, and was able to get the help I needed. I’m not saying that I “knew better” that him - at the end of the day I am still the patient. But the man blatantly ignored my description of my symptoms and my cries for help. I never went back to Loren Rosenthal and I NEVER will - I suggest you do the same.

I saw this doctor a couple of times several years ago and do NOT recommend him. He wanted me to do test after test. I'd understand if they were new tests but I came to him with recent test results I'd recently done within a few months. My plan isn't the best and I couldn't pay the co-pays again. The last straw was when I found that my 9-11 fund would pay for my sleep apnea test and he told me to find another doctor then. This doctor also prescribed drugs I didn't think I needed but wouldn't renew his prescriptions after he told me to find another Dr. I knew he was supposed to give me 30 days to find a new Dr but he was so rude and arrogant, I felt I'd better leave or I'd say something I'd regret. The only person with less patient skills than the doctor was his even rude assistant. I must assume that he hires people with even less people skills to make himself look better. But it's not working - at all.

I am a 71 year old retired, line-of-duty disabled NY City firefighter who went to \doctor\ Loren Rosenthal because he was the only doctor listed in my area who could approve me for the New York medical marijuana program. I thought I wouldn't have a problem because I have been treated for a qualifying condition (Parkinson's Disease) for five years and have found that marijuana helps with the nausea from the L-dopa medication. I found Rosenthal not only unsympathetic to my suffering, but actually hostile towards me! It cost me 250 to get disapproved for the marijuana program by this evil little dwarf. Avoid him at all costs.

I am sorry to say that this doctor's extreme lack of patient relation skills makes him appropriate only for perhaps a one time diagnostic visit for those patients who are not in a psychologically vulnerable state.
