The funeral mass for my brother-in-law which Fr Elisha performed was absolutely lovely his homely was equally excellent. I always feel as if I have gone home when I step into the Cathedral it has a warm welcoming spiritual atmosphere.

Amazing place. Good to go and sit down to chill out. Be great if you can attend the mass...

I'm not a religious man but I do like a church, it's all about the architecture for me and St John's is a beautiful building, as with all churches/cathedrals it does have a calming atmosphere with its stunning stained glass windows, was a nice little stop off before heading into the naval harbour.

Always a good place to park if you are in the town. The cathedral itself is one of the simplest decorated Catholic churches I have ever been in and would suit the Vatican, as opposed to the opulence in Rome, charging its own parishioners money to see previous Popes ridiculously priced clothing and the dome's whispering gallery. As an aside, be careful going to ST Mark's in Venice, the original \bronze\ horses, stolen from Constantinople are not those on the upper facade. To see the originals, you need to pay to go to an upper room and see them, you even have to pay to go to the altar in ST Mark's. However, ST John's in Portsmouth is pleasant enough
