Tecla Colorida is a spin-off of FEUP and INESC Porto, founded in December 2008, specialized on development of web 2 platforms and solutions for educational purposes. The main released product is the portal schoooools.com (escolinhas.pt, in Portugal) - a social and collaborative platform specifically designed for elementary schools and 4-12 years old kids, having usability, simplicity and security as major design concerns. schoooools.com offers schools with simplified, secure and private web 2 spaces, by providing a selection of useful web 2 and social software features (wiki, blogs, collaboration tools, private social networks, instant messaging, etc) for educational purposes. schooooooooooooools (yes, four or more o's) empowers little kids with very simple tools and editors, that informally promote creativity, innovation, collaboration, sharing, learning by playing, all in a very natural way, as in a real school. At the moment schoooools is available in Portugal, Chile, US, Brazil, and moving forward to be available in other countries, soon, through partnerships.
