Very good experience. Instructive about Porto area and Portuguese history, but mostly about 1st world war 1914-1918. Similarly good for adults and kids. Very helpful staff and diverse expositions. We took around 30min to visit and we visit everything. With more care can take about an hour.

A major collection of military miniatures and a thoughtful exhibition of Portuguese military history, especially during the past two centuries

They have some coole guns and uniforms. The miniature are a not as great as expected. It looks like a big private collection rather than something from a museum. It lacks a bit of landscape etc to improve the experience

The museum is free for visit on Sunday. The interior doesn't seem to be very neat and clean . But the collection in there dates back to hundreds of years ago. Good thing is , you will get to explore evolution of weapons, ammunition, dress codes over time . Back of the main museum building , there is a big space which contains details about portugese military , weapons and radios used during world war . I found the bunker fascinating.

If you like to see dummies to replicate the armies in the time of French invasion and other historic events in Portugal, it’s the place to go, otherwise it’s not a place for you

Museum is not large, and it's main collection is a huge number of figurines demonstrating military uniforms from many countries and ages from 14 century to modern days. The main disappointment was that there was no other labels except Portuguese, so you will need to translate every one of them if Portuguese is not your language.

Half of the exposition is just handmade (or maybe even not) models. Not sure it was worth it.

You really have to like miniature soldiers to appreciate this museum. But it's a nice old building.
