Our dinner at Loki was one of the most special food experiences we have had, if not the most special one. The chef personally explained his inspiration for every dish, which really lifted the experience and made the menu come to life. On top of that, the dishes were of outstanding quality, creativity and - most importantly - extremely delicious. Another highlight was the tribute to local products and Portuguese cuisine. All in all it was an amazing evening and I would recommend everyone to visit Loki restaurant if they get the chance.

Chef João Marreiros offers a very intimate culinary experience that takes you on a journey of signatures that combined tell a story of local cuisine quite unlike anything I have ever experienced. I recommend the wine pairing he has to offer, you wont be disappointed. Without doubt the finest dining experience I have had to date. Bravo João! we shall return.
We went to Loki for dinner and it was an experience of a life time. The chef explains personally every dish and where its inspiration came from. He is very pleasant to talk to/with and if asked will talk about the processes involved in making the dishes. As portuguese eating portuguese food I learned more than I expected. The dishes were well presented and delicious and we left with the feeling that we will be back. Sooner, rather then later. I highly recommend anyone to visit this restaurant and to have a unique experience!
Luckily we’ve found this little hidden gem during our Journey - and even luckier we had the chance to get a table. We had a remarkable evening with a surprising and deliciously creative haute cuisine dinner that was enriched by João with his hospitality and personality even more. Strong recommendation for any food lover that wants to get in touch with an authentic interpretation of the chef of what Algarve (Portimão/Monichque region) tastes like. All the best for João and his concept of Loki - we will definitely come back.
We had an amazing dinner at Loki. We had the restaurant for ourselves, with Joao cooking just for us. The food was amazing and the service outstanding. You won’t find a place like this anywhere else, specially for this amount of money.

Absolutely fantastic. What a find, tucked down a side street in Portimao is this veritable gastronomic paradise. The Chef/owner is a true master of his craft creating dishes that really do make your taste buds tingle with anticipation. Every dish comes with a story about the ingredients..what an amazing experience definately not to be missed.
