I was hesitant to sign my son up In Portage this year. Half the time the umpires are young kids who do not know how to umpire and are easily influenced by coaches yelling at them. I know a lot of kids who left Portage for Hobart or some type of AAU ball. There are many things I would like to see change with Portage. There is no need for a try out every year. Once a kid has moved up an age group they should try out and be drafted to one team and remain on that team until they move up again. The jersey's are horrible. Portage Should have real jerseys like the old days and be turned back in at the end of every year and actually have real team names instead of the team being named after their sponsor. Portage baseball has only gone down over the years and I would like to see that change. Portage should try to emulate Munster in how they run their leagues.

I am slightly bias as I have been a part of the league for 20 years. The fields look great, the complex has been revitalized, and as always the concession food is delicious. Thank you to the parents, coaches, players, and board members for making my final year one filled with pleasant memories. Go Portage!!

Fields are in disarray and people in the neighborhood claiming to be in charge of Little League are very rude.
