The welcome at this campsite was warm and accommodating. It is extremely good value considering the distance to a gorgeous private beach and the clean toilet/shower facilities. As a velotouriste, I was super pleased to spend a couple of nights here to rest and enjoy port saint louis!
Great location. Nice individually hedged pitches. Good facilities, Close to town, beach, town walls, market etc
La Prairie is a small, comfortable site with excellent facilities. Situated just the other side of the old coastal defence walls it is convenient for both beach and the lovely town.
Closed looks ok great coast line
This camp site is situated in a most beautiful historical town and sits within the battlement walls, near the beaches. Short walk to the shops, resteraunts and harbours. Having arrived at the end of season the reception was closed as was some of its facilities. This campsite would have definitely had five stars if its toilet facilities had been open. However water and chemical emptying was available. It has grassy good size pitches with lovely thick hedges, making your area very private. Electricity is available but you would need to search within the hedge for the connection. Whilst we were there the site never got full as it is very difficult to understand what is needed to enter. Quite simply - the municipal camp site basically runs alongside the camping aire at the end of the season. To obtain entry you need to go to the camping aire which is situated next to this municiple site and purchase a ticket which has the code to lift the barrier. It cost 11 for 24 hours. (As does the aire which is less private with no electric). You can extend your stay, which again is a little complex - top tip you need to punch your numbers into the top key panel to extend stay and don’t forget the #. Many people, including the French found it difficult to enter and gave up. It seems quite illogical to pay at the aire and should really have its own payment machine. It was a most relaxing environment with the majority of those on site being middle aged as it is not equipped for children. We will definitely be back.
Pity the facilities were locked, and the site needs some gardening done.
NUL! Nous sommes en van et avons pris un camping pour la nuit afin de profiter des sanitaires qui sont FERMÉS ! Ce serait intelligent de le stipuler à l'entrée vu que l'accès se fait par borne !
