Editing an old post having eaten here about a dozen times in the last year: Decent BBQ but at a pretty high price. By the time you add in a drink you're looking at almost 20 for a lunch plate. Takes 75-90 to feed a family of 5 dinner depending on how you order. Family feast advertised to feed 4 will feed 2 adults and 1 kid. Monster Mac n cheese is too spicy for young kids (and a large side of it is like 15... for Mac n cheese at a BBQ place?!) Potato salad is good but super dilly... hot breath for DAYS. Collards are pretty good, but also 15 which is weird because collards are 0.75 at Giant. Brisket is consistently good but mixed results with the pork (sometimes too dry, sometimes super fatty). Beef sausage is different, but we like it. Their original BBQ sauce and cornbread are both amazing. Might go for lunch again and grab a sandwich but its fallen out of our dinner rotation.

This restaurant offers awesome service and tasty food. One of the best spot around here. The food served quickly and the prices were economical. Highly recommended.
The main dish was really good. The pulled pork and ribs were amazing. The sides were really Good but not amazing. The meats were better then the sides. I would definitely go again.
Located at the corner of E. Oxford Ave and Mt. Vernon Ave the Pork Barrel BBQ restaurant is an excellent neighborhood restaurant. The bbq is good. They have an excellent selection of sauces and their dishes are reasonably priced. There is a old pac man arcade machine you can play for a quarter that is a favorite of the kids in the restaurant. A separate dining and bar area. The aesthetic is modern rustic with polished concrete floors and wood and stone decor. Ordering is no frills. You walk up to the counter with the menu overhead, and place your order. Listen for your name, and pick up your food at the other end of the counter. Seating is first come and there is outside seating. Overall a good experience to be had.
