I launched my kayak at Sycamore Landing and enjoyed a blissful day of floating 4.4 miles to Riley’s Lock. There was a wonderful breeze at my back which made paddling unnecessary until calm set in for the last mile. The clouds, crystal clear water and birds were all wonderful.

Very quiet on some weekdays. Nice place to walk, run, bike.
We adopted this historic, rustic road through the county cleanup program for a reason. Rare Maryland swamp borders both sides at parts.

Great spot!
This place is NOT a boat ramp! It is an entrance to the C&O canal. It has a sign stating do not launch boats from this area and it does not have any boat launch ramps or anything of that nature.
