Wonderful stables. It had been a while since I had ridden and everyone made me feel at ease. My six year old also learnt a lot. The horses are well cared for and the owner is super knowledgeable. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Unfortunately we were just in Cornwall on holiday. Next time!

I have been riding at Polmartin riding school for 15 years. Such lovely Arabian horses beautifully looked after. With an indoor and outdoor school and acres of beautiful Cornish countryside to ride through with magificent views to enjoy it is a great pleasure every week. Excellent tuition and safety is a priority.

Fantastic riding stables: beautiful horses and knowledgeable staff. We went there as experienced riders and very much enjoyed riding Arabs for the first time. Incredible horses that are trained beautifully. We learned a lot from the expert advice of Jane and Daphne. Thank you very much Polmartin! We will back on our next visit to Cornwall.

Had a really good mini trek led by Jane. She put both the kids at ease and along with Eric leading Bracken and Bluebell gave a guided tour of plants, animals and interesting sites along the walk. Jane is a very engaging personality who loves horses and that shines through inheritance enthusiasm she gave from when we first arrived through to when we left. Great value for money.

This was the best riding experience that I have had on holiday in the UK. The horses are mostly Arabs, and the landscape for riding out was stunning, with no roads whatsoever. I rode the beautiful well schooled, responsive Romulus, who was perfect for me. They don't let you just turn up and hack, instead I rode in the school first, with a good warm up to relax and prepare my muscles for riding, and they checked that I was able to trot and canter here too. The owner came and joined me in the school for the short canter, and to help me to relax my neck she asked her assistant to lead the horse whilst I closed my eyes (at walk). This was so helpful, and I'd never experienced it before. The ride itself was catered to my ability, and included some steep uphill and downhill walking as well as uphill cantering along with trotting along tracks. We also forded a small lake, which was great fun. This was the only place I have been to where they have properly warmed me up prior to hacking and also checked out my ability beforehand, and gave me tips on balancing on the steep bits. This is so much better, not just for safety of horse and rider but also for the comfort of both. There are cross country jumps in the many acres of riding that they own, so more experienced riders can jump too. The horses are not typical riding school ponies, they are fit and used to competing at a high level, and the owner takes great care that they are ridden as well as possible. The horse I rode was responsive to the leg and where my weight was and soft mouthed. I can't recommend this place highly enough- the only downside was that I don't live near enough to visit more often.
