We booked a tour through Invitation To View, so we were shown around the ground floor of the house and the garden by the owners. The garden is absolutely beautiful and the views over the river are spectacular. This was all finished off with a delicious cream tea. Well worth the trip.

A stunning period house and garden. A private residence with viewing by appointment or on advertised open days. Set with a glorious vantage point of the River Yealm valley the steep gardens display plants and trees from around the globe, with some particular mature exotic species.

Mit UK- Gartenreisen besuchte ich Thorn House & Gardens in der Karwoche 2019. Die Führung durch das Besitzerpaar war entspannt, kompetent ,detailliert und humorvoll, angereichert mit herzlicher Zugewandtheit zu unserer Gruppe. Nach ausführlicher Führung dann Tee, Kaffe & Gebäck im Wintergarten des Hauses. Ein herrlicher Aufenthalt, an den ich gerne zurückdenke.
