This pub is a great local. My late father used to go there on his invalid scooter, and later in his life my brother and I took him there for Sunday lunch. When he passed away, we asked if they would be able to host his wake, which they readily agreed to. It was a great success. I hope they will be able to survive the Covid19 debacle.

Great character, friendliest landlord ever, who takes pride in his customer service and his food. Huge portions, great selection of choices including vegetarian and vegan options, loved the vibe and character and loved our visit. Recommend the Esk Valley Sauvignon!! Will return.
Very disappointed in the poor service last night had a table booked for 5.30 for food. One young lad serving behind the bar and obviously doing table service at 5.40 I asked the lad if he was the only person working he advised that the rest of the staff were upstairs having a meeting. I gave it till 5.45 and then decided to leave I said goodbye to a few people and was then advised by a relation of the Landlord that they didn't have any food because of the lock down. I can appreciate that they wouldn't want food sitting in the freezer but they could have had the decency to call me and let me know as the booking was made on Sunday
Ordered through ubereats and have to say great meals, korma was delicious and the fish and chips were great, portions were good, also like their Chilli con Carne..
Not a bad place for lunch as the food comes in reasonably sized portions , is tasty and good value ... there is also a very wide selection so even fussy eaters should be able to find something they like here . Nice beer garden at the back and lots of parking out front to ! Not the greatest selection of beers here though
