Plate Restaurant is an elevated, vibrant, stylish dining experience. Plate Restaurant was created by Restaurateur Christian Joseph in 2014. In 2017 the first iteration of Plate was destroyed in a fire. Plate Restaurant is back, bigger and better than ever! With an emphasis on the guest experience and hospitality, this iteration of Plate is sure to be special. Christian was mentored by Restaurateur Valter Nassi from Monte Sansovino, Italy. Christian's grandfather Constantino Lucido immigrated from Frosinone, Italy to New York in 1948. Christian is passionate about Italian culture, food, and wine. Plate Restaurant is open now in its new location at 701 E 63rd St. in Kansas City, Missouri. The original culinary team lead by Executive Chef Brian Mehl has created an eclectic menu with a modern and creative interpretation of Italian cuisine.

I must say Plate exceeds my expectations each time I visit. I happen to write this review after my second visit and I’m more than pleased with the customer service, food, atmosphere and more. I was bummed that they recently got rid of their pasta with shrimp, and the staff requested on my behalf to have a pasta made specifically for me. And might I add that it was decadent. How wonderful is that!? I never have had that happen and I am more than pleased. My servers have been great on both visits and all the staff including the manager. It was my moms birthday and they gifted her with a gift card!! Wow I’ve never have heard of that before either. I wish I could give more stars because 10 is what Plate really deserves. I highly recommend!

I decided to try their weekend brunch and must say that it's worth the visit. Way cool atmosphere. I tried the regular breakfast with eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. It was very good. I also had their order of cinnamon rolls and was pleasantly surprised of the excellent taste. Our service was very good and our food was timely. I can only recommend this place because I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Great job Plate restaurant.

Very clean. Followed all covid rules. Waiter was exceptional. All was excellent. Pasta is very good. No cake or song for the birthday person.

The food and service are amazing! In order of antipasta to dessert, my wife and I ordered the arancini, tortelli, and for dessert both the cheesecake and budino. The quality and flavor were top notch, and our waiter was very nice, attentive, and answered all of our questions. I really recommend the tortelli if you like a light tangy pasta (mix with the house red)

I wanted to love this place. I was in town. I saw this on Kansas City restaurant week. It has a pretty cool vibe. Very modern. It appears on this particular night however the staff was very understaffed. There was one bartender who was running nonstop. It took quite some time to acknowledge me. I ordered off the restaurant week menu. The modern Italian salad was good though I thought it was over drenched with dressing. The chicken was OK. Too bland for my taste buds. The desert was the best part of the entire evening it was excellent. It was not my favorite experience there though I heard some people behind me mention to some of the staff that the food was excellent and how much they loved it. Perhaps I had ordered the wrong items. I would give it another try though I would not rush to come back until I had an opportunity to peruse the menu for more favorable items going forward.
