Pinewood Residential Home

Our mother was admitted to Pinewood as an emergency owing to her frail health in Mar 2018. They nursed her back to health and monitored her recovery very well. She lived there for nearly three years, dying peacefully at the end of December 2020. She was very happy with the home and she loved her room, with its view of the beach and Otter Head. The staff were unfailingly kind and responsive to her The home also coped extremely well with the unusual Court of Protection case we needed to bring to protect her from herself. Although in the last year with lockdown, visits were curtailed, the home made very attempt to permit visits, deeming the mental health of patients as important as their physical health: they built a special room to permit visits. In her last days, they allowed visits to say our farewells, which many homes did not. For that we are very grateful. I have no hesitation in recommending this home very highly for their combination of compassion and practical good sense.
